Due to the federal government shutdown, Kansas WIC is temporarily pausing shipments of formula. This applies to WIC clients who pick up at their local WIC clinic. What does this mean for you? If you rely on WIC for your baby’s formula, it will need to be purchased through another authorized WIC vendor.
Effective Oct. 10, 2025, orders for specialized WIC formulas that are not available through authorized WIC vendors can no longer be placed or distributed through the WIC program. For those on Medicaid, Medicaid should be the primary payer for qualified specialized formulas listed in KMAP General Bulletin 25047 [1].
However, available WIC food dollars are anticipated to last into November. KDHE remains committed to assisting families with their food and nutritional needs.
